the things you learn on the internet

Today I booked one of the internal flights I’ll be taking as part of my holiday in China. The flight is with Shenzhen Airlines. I was doing some research about the Shenzhen airport and Shenzhen Airlines and this comment was part of the Shenzhen Airlines page on wikipedia:

Shenzhen Airlines is one of the several airlines discovered to have employed a large number of pilots with falsified flight experience and qualifications. The authorities warn they cannot be sure all fake pilots have been rooted out.

I really shoulda checked the page before booking!

On the other hand. I just found this on the youtube and at least we’ll be entertained if these faux pilots take us down!

Sausage Tree Camp – see you in 2011

December 6th, 2010 No comments

2011 is looming as a massive travel year for us Chambers’. :) We love to travel, with time planned in the USA and a further visit now planned to Africa, I (Chris) will have nearly 10 weeks overseas (hooray) next year! Throw in a few weekends away in my most beautiful of states Queensland (hooray) & it’s not hard tp understand why I’m really looking forward to 2011!

When I set foot in Africa it will see me tick my fifth continent off my to visit list. I’ll have visited Africa, Asia, Australia, North America and South America (in April 2011). Jackson will be visiting his fourth continent. I’m averaging one every 7.2 years and Jackson one every 1.75 years. Kylie and I want Jackson to be well travelled as we think this will contribute to him being more understanding of the world around him.

One of the places we’re going to visit when we’re in Africa is the amazing place shown in the video below. It’s called Sausage Tree Camp and it’s located in the Lower Zambezi. Looks amazing and it’s something we’re looking forward to very much!

More info on Sausage Tree Camp can be found on their website www.sausagetreecamp.com
